This fund has been created in honor of the incredible life of Suzanne St. Onge Smith. Suzi sent her beloved mustang pony “Wellby” to become a part of the Windrush stable in the Fall of 2019. Now, her family and friends would like to continue Suzi’s generous support of the Windrush programs with this memorial fund.
Suzi was a lifelong equestrian, with a passion for excellence in the sport, and the loving care of all her horses. In addition to her time in the saddle, Suzi’s compassion and care for creatures great and small, human and animal, defined her life. With a BS/MA in Psychology, from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Suzi worked as a Psychologist for the State of New York, and further as a professor of Psychology in both New York and North Carolina. She simultaneously worked as a pioneer in the movement of small-scale sustainable farming, while sheltering a seemingly limitless line of rescue animals in need.
Suzi knew well the transformative and healing powers of horses, and we hope you will help us uphold her legacy promoting therapeutic riding programs at Windrush Farm.
