Summer Fun at the Farm
Fridays are always the best — it’s SHOW DAY!
It’s Friday casual JEANS day at Morgan Stanley
Give with Liberty!
Our friends from Liberty Mutual helped out at the farm again this week as part of their “Give with Liberty” program. The crew could be found raking and pruning, spreading mulch, and clearing trails. The place looks awesome. We’re so grateful for all their support. Check out this beautiful group shot!
Logan’s mom explains why!
We spent a nice, sweet, laid back afternoon at Windrush Farm with some amazing horses. I am behind our project with Paper Clouds Apparel more than ever.
Walking through the barn I realized something. It’s not just the riding that’s so important to these kids. It’s more than that.
The thing about horses is, they don’t judge you. They don’t discriminate, or tease, or gossip. They don’t shy away at the site of you, they don’t decide they don’t want to be your friend because you walk different or cannot speak clearly.
They greet you with warm friendly eyes, and a loving heart. These horses have allowed a lot of special kids to ride on their backs, brush their fur, and hug their necks. They have listened to shared dreams, and kept secrets. They are quiet, gentle giants who just want to love.
It was these very horses that helped Logan advance in his development, and I am grateful for that. Please check out the Paper Clouds campaign and see if you might want to buy one of the shirts with Logan’s drawing of one of the Windrush Horses. 50% of shirt proceeds go right to the farm to help care for these wonderful horses.
It’s a win/win/win
Get a great shirt? Check.
Provide physical therapy? Check.
Create a job? Check.
Every shirt ordered during the Windrush Farm campaign will not only provide therapeutic horse riding sessions for individuals with special needs, it will also create a shirt-packaging job for an individual with developmental disabilities at Trilogy Inc.
I’m sure there are 4th, 5th, and 6th wins in there somewhere, but I’m exhausted from all this counting. I need a nap.

$10,000 Matching Donation
Thank you all for all your support throughout the year. Thanks to you we have provided services to more than 1,454 children and adults – and their families.
One of our newest collaborations, Spaulding Rehabilitation Center, started at Windrush Farm as part of their adaptive sports program. Their time at Windrush gives patients a chance to get out of the hospital, socialize with each other, learn new things, and experience the healing power of horses.
Field Trip!
What could be better than a field trip to Windrush! More than 50 kids from Lynn’s Harrington Elementary School came to visit today to learn about the services Windrush Farm offers and to watch a class. What a fun day!
The Tee-Shirts are ready!!
Windrush Farm is pleased to announce their partnership with Paper Clouds Apparel of Arizona. Paper Clouds Apparel is a t-shirt company dedicated to helping raise money for special needs schools and organizations while showcasing the amazing artistic talents of those with special needs.
Beginning today, Paper Clouds will sell t-shirts and greeting cards featuring artwork from a Windrush Farm student, Logan Nyman. Logan, 17, is an Amesbury High School junior who struggles with developmental delays, particularly in language. While his disability is undiagnosed, his condition is similar to autism and he has difficulty verbally communicating.
Logan’s designs include a horse. Horses are so special to him and the shirts reflect his passion!. Logan’s mom, Allyson Nyman runs a Facebook page, Crumb Diaries chronicling her life with Logan. She sparked the partnership with Paper Cloud Apparel and Windrush. She also got Rockin’ Autism Mom, another Facebook page, on board with her son Connor’s artwork also included in these designs. Connor, aka Bug’s, artwork is a beautiful owl drawing.
Robert Thornton, Paper Clouds founder and CEO explains, “I wanted to do something with my life where I could give back.” Founded in 2009, Robert and crew have worked with causes such as Autism Speaks and International Down Syndrome Coalition. “I know we can change the lives of millions with special needs if we can just get our mission to the masses,” shares Robert.”
At Windrush Farm the goal is to help people with a broad range and combination of disabilities to excel. Partnering with the horse, Windrush’s programs are designed to encourage, challenge and motivate their clients.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Paper Cloud Apparel,” says Marketing Director, Jennifer Tartaglia. “Logan’s and Connor’s designs on the t-shirts showcase their creative minds and abilities. And at the same time will help our future clients with disabilities at the farm.” Paper Cloud puts it best: “Helping others has never looked so good.”
During the two weeks of sales for the project, 50% of the proceeds will go to Windrush Farm. T-shirts can be purchased at the Paper Cloud Appeal www.papercloudsapparel.com or at Windrush Farm www.windrushfarm.org.
