We are all capable of more than we think
In addition to the normal activities that go on around the farm, we have been lucky enough to assist in two local troops efforts to earn their badges
Girl Scout Troop 62096 came out to the farm to work on their Animal Helpers Badge. This badge teaches scouts about the different ways animals are used to provide humans companionship and joy. It also gives the scouts a better understanding on how animals can be trained to help people with disabilities or find people who may be lost.
During their time at Windrush, the girl scouts learned about how our horses are used to help heal the clients. They spent time around the farm learning about the different types of programs we have, how our animals are trained and what people need to know before they can volunteer. It was a wonderful day being able to help these young ladies earn such a meaningful badge.
We also had Boy Scout Troop 79 volunteering their time to earn their Citizenship in the Community merit badge. This badge required the scouts to choose a charitable organization outside of Scouts that interests them and brings the community together. Troop 79 chose Windrush Farm!
While the boy scouts were here, they spent much of their time clearing the trails. This ensures the trails were wide enough for our therapeutic classes use. In addition to the trail clean up, they organized our tool area and removed hay out of Candy’s Lane! By doing all this great volunteer work, they were able to earn their badge.
We want to thank both troops for coming to Windrush Farm. It is wonderful to know that we have the young community members thinking of us.
Congratulations on earning your badges!

Yesterday, the Sheehy family and a group from the Marblehead Community Charter School came to Windrush Farm to present us with an unbelievable donation on behalf of Megan Sheehy.
Last month, the entire Marblehead community joined together in the ‘Rock For Meg’ event. This community music concert was held in memory of Megan Sheehy, a beautiful young girl that unfortunately lost her battle to cancer last summer.
Megan’s spirit lives on through the amazing work of her family, friends and community. She expressed at a very young age that she wanted to help other children learn how to ride horses. It is a true blessing to see that she continues to accomplish this mission through her memory.
Thank you so much Megan. Your passion and kind heart has left a forever impression on everyone here at Windrush Farm. There are many children that will be able to ride because of you.
On June 5, 2015 we were lucky to have Deloitte, decide to once again spend their Impact Day with us at Windrush Farm. Deloitte has been making a huge difference at Windrush over the past five years and we are so grateful for this partnership.
Eighteen employees came out with unbelievable spirit to help clean the exterior of the office and the indoor arena. Deloitte not only donated their priceless manpower but also all of the tools needed to complete the work. Before Deliotte employees arrived on Friday, we received a large shipment of tools that included brushes, gloves, safety goggles and a fantastic new power washer! All donated to Windrush Farm!
Thank you Bruce Clay, Linda Strovink and all the Deloitte employees for all of your hard work. The buildings look so fresh and clean. The projects that you complete for us year after year make a huge impact on the quality of our programs and the services we provide to the greater community. #ImpactThatMatters

Windrush Farm would like to thank two fabulous Girl Scouts, Annie Olsen and Molly Smidera. These two have been a huge help to Windrush on Monday afternoons. They were both looking to earn their Silver and Gold stars. They have put in hours helping in the barn while actively fundraising for us.
Together they managed to get enough raised to purchase beautiful, halter brass name plates, and 2 stable halters for Windrush. Amazing job!
Congratulations on earning your stars! Thank you Annie and Molly!
