Have the most fun this summer and make a difference in the lives of children with or without disabilities.
Hang out with horses and help children learn to care for a pony and to ride! Many volunteers tell us this is the best week of the summer! Horse experience needed!
Horse handlers need to have good horse experience (such as owning a horse or similar)
Volunteers should be able to walk and jog alongside the horse at a trot
Minimum age to volunteer is 14*
Classes run Monday to Friday early morning to early afternoon
Pony Pals
In this program children aged 6 to 14 learn how to care for a pony, ride and enjoy arts and crafts and scavenger hunts. Many of these children need horse handlers to help them in classes. This program is ideal for volunteers who have high energy and enjoy being with fun and active riders!
Giddy Up and Grow
Giddy up and Grow serves disadvantaged children from Greater Lawrence. The program includes riding, pony care, reading, writing and learning how to garden in our Teaching Garden. This program is ideal for volunteers who enjoy mentoring and teaching. Make a difference in the life of a child!
We look forward to welcoming you to the Windrush family!
